We're back! After a smashing success in October, we're moving up to a bigger venue to continue our monthly series of mixers. We're meeting at Shine Lounge, on 1337 Mission St (in SoMa between 9th and 10th St.).
SF Beta is an event for founders, entrepreneurs, developers, bloggers, investors, journalists, and revolutionaries. Our next mixer is taking place on Thursday, November 16th at 7 pm.
Our evening will feature:
- Guest MC Rafe Needleman, CNET editor-at-large
- Short routine from Erikka Innes, founder of Geek Comedy Night.
- Limerick pitches from five hot startups
- Catered appetizer menu from Sauce
At the suggestion of several October attendees, suggested contributions for November are now on a sliding scale:
- Regular Folks: $10 door / $8 advance
- Bootstrappers: $5 door / $4 door
- Just Sold to Google: $1.65 (Billion)
Buy advance tickets on ZapTix: http://zaptix.com/bro...

The meeting was pretty good for mixing, but there were no areas to get away from the noise for more conversation.

I expected to actually see presentations and learn something new (and related to web 2.0) rather than mingle and network only....

Great event. Met some cool people. Only suggestion would be to have pre-printed name badges if at all possible.

The space was too small, would rather not have catering and pay smaller admission fee

SFBeta is a great idea. However since this is an event where entrepreneuers come to meet developers and vice versa or to meet investors and other potential partners it would be great if the web site enabled such interactivity. The tags on the labels helped a bit but you can improve 10x the chance of making connections by adding a web component.

Larger venue would of been nice. It was a bit tight at times

not an apropriate venue for a business networking event. Dark & loud. Announcement was misleading - expected a networking event -found a party

Need higher quality people in the room

People need to show more respect to the speakers. I was not a speaker btw.

I met 5 new people who had interesting businesses or projects, and I enjoyed the discussions.

Venue was too small for number of people. Food was chintzy for $10 cover.
